Dolgoch Falls Hotel is unique in its position being located at the south western corner of Wales’ Snowdonia National Park just 5 miles from the beautiful West Wales coastline. Both Tywyn and Machynlleth are close by with the picturesque village of Aberdyfi just 6 miles away.The hotel is situated at the foot of the Dolgoch Ravine and Waterfalls and just a short drive from the foot of the beautiful Cadair Idris with Snowdon and the heart of Snowdonia being within easy reach. The Talyllyn narrow guage steam railway has a station just behind the Hotel.The Hotel is family run and dates back in parts to the 13th century. We also have a well stocked bar for relaxing. This tranquil location is the perfect place to relax and unwind.Unfortunately we are unable to accept pets.

TYNYCORNEL is one of a lucky handful of hotels which could easily qualify for a ‘Best Location in Britain’ award.It has an outstanding setting beside the waters of Talyllyn Lake deep in the fold of dramatic steep-sided mountains.The 222 acre lake is more than a scenic asset: the hotel owns the lake which is noted for its superb fishing. Tynycornel was a well known fishing hostelry as early as 1800. Guests enjoy priority access to Talyllyn’s prized waters together with fine river fishing.Tynycornel is a solid traditional building with an attractive bar lounge area decorated with a unique collection of paintings bythe renowned local bird artist Terence Lambert. The hotel well known by its guests for its warm and welcoming atmosphere has been extensively and sensitively refurbished. None of its ambience has been lost and an even greater degree of comfort has been gained. A spacious lounge overlooking the lake offers both pleasant window seats and quiet corners comfortable chairs some fine antiques and original prints which make this public room a charming haven. The cosy dimensions of the well-equipped bedrooms are in keeping with Tynycornel’s ancestry. Guests can also stay in adjacent accommodation converted from old farm buildings. Our fifteen standard bedrooms one suite and six newly built superior rooms enjoy splendid lakeside or garden views. All are en-suite and have tea and coffee making facilities direct dial phone and television.

The Minffordd Hotel in Talyllyn valley Mid Wales is set in probably the most breathtaking scenery in Britain and is situated at the base of the Cader Idris with the summit being 1 12 miles NW of the hotel. The original parts of the building are over 400 years old so as you might expect the walls are very thick and there are plenty of originally features such as the original wood beams which can be seen throughout the building and our log fire which is a key feature during the winter months. We have 2 lounges available for guest to relax in at any time of the day maybe after dinner with a glass or two of your favourite drink from our extensively well stocked bar. Our restaurant seats a maximum of twenty people for dinner therefore reservations are essential to guarantee you a table especially at weekends. Breakfast is also served here with a selection of fresh fruit cereals and fruit juices full breakfasts are cooked freshly to order. …………………….. We are ideally situated at the base of CADER IDRIS Mountain here in southern SNOWDONIA and a vast majority of guests are walkers and stay with us due to our location and easy access to the MINFFORDD PATH which is 5 minutes from our front door………………………. We are also on the mach loop which is famous with plane spotters and photographers who also stay with us to view the low flying RAF aircraft that can be seen most days flying down the valley……………….. Due to our scenic mountain location we are also favourite with landscapes and wildlife photographers who visit us to enjoy the fabulous scenery and wildlife. There are various golf courses ( Aberdovey Harlech Dolgellau Machynlleth ) locally and fishing (coarse game and sea) is also widely available locally…………………… FURTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION……………….. We do not issue front door keys and the front door is locked at 12 midnight…………….Pets are only allowed in 2 downstairs bedrooms rooms a twin and a double if these are taken then pets will not be permitted in any other bedroom please check before making the reservation with us to avoid any disappointments. ………………….. We served food daily from 12noon 9pm don’t forget to make your table reservation if required…………………. WE DO NOT HAVE TV IN THE HOTEL AS WE CANNOT RECEIVE A SIGNAL DUE TO OUR RURAL MOUNTAINOUS LOCATION……………………….Wi-Fi Is only available in the Bar Area and is free of charge.
